Everything you need to get the most out of Cache Purger.

Getting started

  1. Install Cache Purger from the Chrome Web Store, then pin its icon to your toolbar.
  2. Click the Cache Purger icon in your toolbar to open the popup.
  3. Paste a full URL or a complete cURL command into the box. The method, headers and body are parsed for you.
  4. Give it a title and hit + Save to keep it, Save & Run to save and fire it, or Run to fire it once without saving.
  5. Saved requests appear below — press Fire to run any of them and see the HTTP status inline.

Working with requests

Duplicate & edit

Press the duplicate icon on any saved request to load a copy into the form. Edit it, then save it as a new entry or just run it — the original is never changed.

Rename

Press the pencil icon to rename a request inline. Press Enter to save or Esc to cancel.

History

Every request you fire is recorded in the History tab with its status and timestamp. From there you can re-fire it, or press the + to promote it to your Saved list. Untitled runs are logged by their URL.

Search & sort

Use the search box to filter by title, URL, headers or body. Use the sort menu to order by title, creation date or last run. Each tab remembers its own sort.

Import & Export

Open the ⋯ menu to export your Saved list or History to a JSON file, or import one. Importing adds to your existing list rather than replacing it, so you won't lose anything.

FAQ

Where is my data stored?

Entirely in your browser's local extension storage. It never leaves your machine except as the requests you choose to fire.

Does it send my data anywhere?

No. There are no servers, analytics or trackers. The only network calls are the requests you explicitly run.

Why does it ask for access to all sites?

So it can send requests to whatever URL you enter. It only makes a request when you press Run or Fire.

Will I lose my saved requests on update?

No — they persist across updates. You can also export them to JSON as a backup at any time.

A request shows an error status. What now?

The HTTP status (e.g. 401, 500) is shown on the row, and the response is logged to the extension's console for debugging.

Privacy

Cache Purger does not collect, transmit or sell any personal data. Your saved requests and run history are stored locally using the browser's storage API and remain on your device. The extension makes network requests only to the URLs you explicitly configure and run. No analytics, no tracking, no third-party servers.
